Tips to better digital photography
My photography - my Flickr pagetips to better digital photos
1.Use a tripod
Using a tripod is handy especially when there isn't very much light around. Digital cameras will expose the sensor for a longer period of time because of this. What this means to you is that there is a higher chance for motion blur to appear in your picture, because of you shaking while holding the camera. If you increase the ISO it will reduce the exposure and chance that motion blur will appear, but it can also introduce noise into the photoraph. So next time your in a low light setting try using a tripod so you can have a longer exposure time with a low ISO setting to reduce motion blur.
2. Or just don't use a tripod.
Motion blur can produce some interesting affects at night or in low light situations. Go ahead try to create some interesting light trails with motion blur. I will cover more on light trails at a later time.
3. Use the zoom more.
Don't close in on your subject to make it fill the frame. just stand back and use the zoom to make the subject the right size, and use your eye to double-check the perspective before you click the shutter.
4. Use the flash to get rid of shadows.
On sunny days you can use the flash to rid the picture of shadows. The bright sunlight casts shadows on faces; turn the flash on to light them up and you will be thankful you did.
5. Use the burst option on your camera.
If you are shooting groups of people use the burst option, chances are a few people are not looking at you, have their eyes closed or what not. This allows you to take a few pictures in succession and you are bound to get a good one.
